Attention beginner runners! Mokena Park District is offering BEGINNER’SB.L.A.S.T. (5K PREP CLASS) on Saturdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. beginningApril 6-June 1, 2013 at The Oaks Recreation & Fitness Center, 10847 LaPorteRoad, Mokena. Learn to run and train for a 5K race using Better, Longer And Stronger Training (B.L.A.S.T.). Join our B.L.A.S.T. trainer and work your wayup to running in the “Summertime Stride 5K” with your team on June 8th at Main Park! This program is designed for beginner runners whose goal is to run a 5K race or those looking to improve their running skills. Program includes weekly training meetings focusing on proper running techniques, strengthening and flexibility, team practice runs, and registration in the “Summertime Stride 5K”(shirt included). There will also be several additional practice runs held on weekdays. Ages 14 & over. Early registration fees: $59R/$64NR. Registration deadline: April 1. After the deadline, additional fees apply.
