Coronavirus: Fire District Shares Protocol For Medical Calls
The Mokena Fire District has changed its protocol for medical calls, and also continues to request supply donations.
MOKENA, IL — In a recent video from the Mokena Fire Protection District, district staff shared how paramedics will respond to medical calls during the coronavirus pandemic.
The fire district said one paramedic would be sent in for a medical call to assess the situation and to assist the patient out of the residence. In the driveway or outside of the residence, the other paramedics will assist and bring the patient into the ambulance.
In an extreme situation, paramedics would still come into the house and assist the patient, the district said.

Lieutenant Mark Sickles said if you call 911 and request a house call, try to make it outside to the driveway. If you can't make it outside, let the dispatcher know.
Sickles also asked for donations of personal protective equipment, especially N95 masks and surgical gowns.
