Hilda Jane is an amazing and SWEET big lap dog! She doesn’t know (or care) she weights 45 pounds and wants nothing more than to spend time in your lap. Hilda has quite possibly the softest fur ever and you won’t want to stop petting her! She is great with other dogs, LOVES people, walks nice on leash and has learned basic commands. She wants to please people and is joyful when around you. She is good in the car, likes long walks and will transition easily to any family environment. Hilda has also been in a home with cats and did fine.

Liz - DOB 10/16/11

Approximate weight - 60lbs

Breed guesses...Lab, Spaniel, Hound???

Liz is an amazing dog that has had rough start to life. She has learned that people can be good and has learned to trust. She didn’t even bark until she found her voice about a month after she came to Illinois. She has met many new people and children and gets along with everyone!

She is absolutely wonderful with her crate. She will go right in when told to kennel. She goes in her kennel by herself when she wants to take a nap and the door is left open. She is not crated during the day while her foster family is away. She does fine in their home.

Liz is very trainable and loves treats as a reward. She is house broken and will stare out the door when she has to go. She walks well on a leash by your side. She does have some hunting instinct and chases the birds in the yard and is quite determined about the squirrels.

If given the chance she would love to sleep in your bed but will sleep in her kennel just fine. Liz will do well in a home with other active dogs. She likes to play and rough house with her canine friends so she will do well as an only dog or with others. The family that adopts Liz will be very lucky to have such a loving girl!

Priority will be given to those adopters that have completed their application and had a phone interview.

We must have an application, conduct a phone interview and background check, and meet your entire family before an adoption will be approved.

See you there!
