Haunted Trail needs spooks

Mokena Community Park District is looking for people or groups that want to create a scene for this year's Haunted Trail on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 10am to 5pm at Main Park. There are two categories: Living Mortals and Dummy Mummies. There is a $150 first prize for the best scene and $75 for second prize. Registration deadline is Oct. 6.

Chills and thrills await those who dare to enter the "terror-tory" of the Haunted Trail! Businesses, clubs, school groups, families, co-workers, or just individuals are invited to create a frightfully fun display for this year's Haunted Trail! Scenes are voted on by Halloween Hollow visitors walking through the trail. Your display can be as funny or scary as you like ... so be creative! Please remember, kids of all ages will be viewing the displays. Your display should be set up and ready for viewing by 10am on Saturday, Oct. 16. A parent or guardian must be present at all times for scenes with live performers. It is also recommended that an adult stay with stationary scenes at all times.

For more information, call 708-479-1020 or visit the park district website at www.mokenapark.com.
