Physician/author to Discuss Healthy Lifestyle Choices At Mokena Cancer Support Center April 14

Join published author and pediatrician Denice Cook, M.D., Thursday, April 14, 6:30 p.m., at the Mokena Cancer Support Center as she discusses how to avoid future health problems by making healthier diet and lifestyle choices now.

The author of Choose Life: Optimizing Your Health and Functioning Toward 100 Years and Beyond, Dr. Cook will present an inspiring look at common family health challenges, such as diet and exercise, and how to avoid catastrophic health events by making more informed choices. Specific topics include a discussion of the chemicals in common food sources that have been linked to brain damage, learning disabilities and chronic conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, and the benefits of drinking alkaline water.

Dr. Cook’s presentation is cosponsored by Ingalls Health System and the Mokena Cancer Support Center and is open to anyone, regardless if they have been touched by cancer. The Cancer Support Center is located at 19250 Everett Lane in Mokena.
