Fourth Of July House, Business Decorating Contest Held In Mokena

MOKENA, IL — The Mokena Chamber of Commerce is inviting both residents and businesses to participate in its first Fourth of July house/business decorating contest. It is free to participate in the contest, and you must register by July 1 to be included in the judging.

According to a Facebook post from the chamber, participants should decorate the side of the house or business which is most visible from the street so everyone can see displays without exiting their cars.

Judging of decorations will take place starting at noon July 3 and ending at 5 p.m. July 4. The entries will be listed on the chamber's website and Facebook page for the public to view and cast votes.

According to the chamber, prizes will be awarded to the best residential entry and best business entry. The winners will then be announced on the chamber website on Facebook on July 4.
