Franciscan St. James sponsoring Frankfort Wellness Fair

Franciscan St. James Health is pleased to announce that it is again the exclusive participating sponsor of the 12th annual Frankfort Wellness Fair to be held on Saturday, February 28, from 8:30 a.m. to Noon at the Founders Center, 140 Oak Street in downtown Frankfort.

Sponsored by the Village of Frankfort and the Frankfort Park District, the Frankfort Wellness Fair is free to the public.

Franciscan St. James, Franciscan Physician Network and Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC, staff will offer free screenings for blood glucose/cholesterol, blood oxygen, blood pressure, pulmonary (spirometry), osteoporosis and body mass index.

Attendees may also receive a 10-minute chair massage and free flu shots, while supplies last.

In addition to free refreshments, giveaways and raffles, the Frankfort Wellness Fair will include informational exhibits that focus on prevention and awareness, including heart and vascular care; diabetes; cancer care; home health care; occupational; physical and sports therapy; rehabilitation services; and hospice care.

Attendees are invited to bring their health care questions to this year’s added attraction, the Family Health Forum. Franciscan St. James physicians, specialists and surgeons will participate in an open, informative, clinical question-and-answer session from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

If you have not enrolled for insurance coverage yet on one of the insurance exchanges, The Southland Health Care Forum will present a free informational Affordable Care Act Enrollment Period seminar from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Franciscan St. James physicians and staff will be available throughout the day to discuss new and improved patient-focused initiatives for better patient care. New to the fair this year, St. James physical therapy experts will conduct a free workshop about the physiology of pain from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There will also be a booth that will provide awareness and education of hepatitis C (HCV) with a goal towards an increase in improved testing and linkage to care with the communities served by Franciscan St. James.
