Free Senior Spelling Bee hosted by Mokena Park District

Can you spell palindrome? Malapropism? How about minuscule? Showcase your spelling abilities at this free competition.

Join us for this fun, FREE, brain-healthy activity on Tuesday, May 5 at The Oaks Recreation and Fitness Center, 10847 La Porte Road, Mokena. Registration and check-in begin at 12:30 p.m. Competition begins at 1:00 p.m. Preregistration is recommended.

This Illinois State Senior Spelling Bee competition is an exciting state-wide program that gives Illinois adults age 50 and over an opportunity to showcase a lifetime of knowledge and to celebrate years of experience through their spelling abilities.

Local winners and runners up will advance to regional semi-finals. The State Finals will be held at the Illinois Building at the 2015 Illinois State Fair on Senior Day. Transportation and expenses for those who advance are the responsibility of the winners.
