Gas Station Armed Robbers Nabbed: Chief

A "very attentive" Bolingbrook police officer captured four suspects accused of robbing a Mobil gas station in Mokena Monday morning.

MOKENA, IL — The four suspects in the armed robbery at the Mobil gas station in Mokena early Monday morning were apprehended shortly after in Bolingbrook thanks to "outstanding" police work by officers in the west suburb, Mokena Police Chief Steve Vaccaro said.

Alexander Love, 22, of 128 N. Villa Ave. in Villa Park; Cameron J. Love, 19, of 12225 Vincennes Road in Blue Island; and Martize T. Murphy, 20, of 1154 E. 91st St., Chicago, were arrested on felony charges of armed robbery after they were arrested Monday morning outside the Denny's restaurant in Bolingbrook, according to a Bolingbrook Patch report. A fourth suspect, a juvenile, was also arrested.

Vaccaro said at 5:14 a.m. the suspects displayed a handgun to the clerk inside the Mobil at 193rd Street and Lagrange Road. They made off in a red Jeep Liberty with cash and an unknown amount of scratch-off lottery tickets, Vaccaro said.

A "very attentive" Bolingbrook police officer recognized the description of the vehicle, stopped it and arrested the occupants shortly after the armed robbery in Mokena, Vaccaro said.

"That was outstanding police work," he added.

All four suspects were charged by Mokena police with one count of armed robbery. One suspect is believed to be linked to Saturday's violent holdup at at a Bolingbrook 7-Eleven.
