Helicopter Will Land At Mokena Junior High As Part Of DEA Program

Residents of the Grasmere subdivision should not be alarmed by a helicopter scheduled to land on the junior high track Wednesday afternoon.

MOKENA, IL — A helicopter will land on the running track at Mokena Junior High School early Wednesday afternoon, but residents of the nearby Grasmere subdivision should not be alarmed. The helicopter will be there as part of a Drug Enforcement Agency educational presentation that will run at the school from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., according to a news alert from the village of Mokena.

Along with the helicopter landing, the scheduled presentation will feature interactive displays and demonstrations near the track by the DEA and other law enforcement agencies. Considerable law enforcement personnel, including a drug-sniffing K9 officer, and law enforcement vehicles will be present throughout the event.
