Holiday Lights Contest Held In Mokena

MOKENA, IL — Get in the holiday spirit and participate in Mokena Community Park District's holiday lights contest. Residents can enter their home in the contest for a chance to win some prizes.

The park district said the registration deadline is Dec. 5. There are two categories to enter: Expert Elves, for those who have won the contest in the past or Rookie Reindeers for those who have not won in the past. Judging will take place between 6:30-9:30 p.m. Dec. 12. Displays must be lit during judging time.

Contestants do not need to be present during the judging, the park district said. Judging is based on creativity, originality, theme, musical effects and lighting.

Winners will be notified by phone Dec. 13. You can register online.
