
The four Lincoln-Way high schools; Lincoln-Way Central, Lincoln-Way East, Lincoln-Way North and Lincoln-Way West are hosting the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) on Wednesday, October 15 at each high school.
Interested freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are interested in taking the national exam should register in their school’s PPS office.
“The PSAT is the qualifying test for National Merit Scholars during a student’s junior year. Juniors from around the nation take this test to compete for scholarship money,” stated Dr. Steve Provis, Central Principal.

“In addition, many sophomores and freshmen also take this test in order to be better prepared to compete for scholarship money their junior year,” Dr. Sharon Michalak, East Principal added.
“The PSAT is optional and does not appear on a student’s transcript unless requested,” noted Dr. Mark Cohen, North Principal.

The cost to take the national test is $14 and checks can be made to each individual high school where the student attends.
“Upon registration, your child will receive a practice test booklet and test day information. We encourage all interested students to take the exam,” stated Dr. Monica Schmitt, West Principal.
The registration deadline is Friday, September 26, for the October 15 PSAT exam.
