Mokena needs an ordinance to control the lighting of fireworks. When I moved here almost 10 years ago it was quiet, on the FOURTH of July, some neighbors were blowing them off, Officers stopped by and told them to stop at 11:00PM. For the last few years it goes on till 3 in the morning when the lighting person finally passes out. Lets put it on the ballot as a referendum and I bet it will pass by a wide margin. Most people here do not do it and don't want the mess and the noise it creates.
