Lincoln-Way D210 Postpones Graduation

Lincoln-Way D210 shared on its Facebook page​ that graduation has been postponed until the weekend of July 17-19 due to the coronavirus.

MOKENA, IL — With the extension of the stay-at-home order in Illinois to May 30 and the closing of schools for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year, many school districts have had to postpone graduation ceremonies.

Lincoln-Way District 210 shared on its Facebook page that graduation has been postponed until the weekend of July 17-19.

"The district will provide a graduation ceremony adhering to guidelines from the CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health," the district shared, adding that more details will be coming in the next few weeks.

Superintendent R. Scott Tingley also shared additional details for the rest of the school year in a letter to the community. The last day of remote learning for the seniors will be May 15, while the rest of the school will continue remote learning until May 21. Traditional final exams will not be given, Tingley said.

Extracurricular activities, including spring sports and prom at each high school, have been canceled.
