Lincoln-Way Music Boosters to Sell SIAM Discount books
The sale is a fundraiser for 500 music students from across the district.
The Lincoln-Way High School Music Boosters will be conducting their 29th annual SIAM discount book sale with the support of over 500 music students from all four high schools.
The students and adult volunteers will be in the Lincoln-Way neighborhoods on the weekends of Sunday, August 17 and Sunday, August 24 (weather permitting) from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. The new SIAM book will be valid from October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015. The donation for the 29th edition of the SIAM book is $15, same as the past several years.
The Lincoln-Way Central Marching Knights, Lincoln-Way East Marching Griffins, Lincoln-Way North Marching Phoenix, and the Lincoln-Way West Marching Warriors will be going door to door in their summer uniforms along with students in the choral and orchestra program selling the discount books.

“The SIAM discount book is unique. The heart of the SIAM book is the repeatable discount, good for a full year. Each member business designs and offers a discount or a give-away which their patrons can exercise each time and every time they make a purchase or use the service of the merchant. Last year, we sold approximately 7,000 SIAM books,” noted Tom Delegatto, SIAM book district chair.
If citizens are not at home, students will be leaving door hangers that list all the area merchants where the SIAM books can be purchased.

The SIAM card was created by the Lincoln-Way High School Music Boosters 29 years ago and has remained a completely joint fund raising effort by all four of the Lincoln-Way high schools, Central, East, North, and West. All of the proceeds from the fundraiser are split equally among the music departments at each school.
“We are very excited to be continuing the proud SIAM tradition, and we are currently soliciting and contracting with Lincoln-Way businesses for the upcoming year’s SIAM Book,” stated Tom Delegatto, SIAM district chair.
“When the discount book started in 1986, the book carried 33 local businesses. With the purchase of the discount book, the customer receives two cutout cards so that two people can have access to the discounts provided by the local businesses,” added Delegatto.
Proceeds from the sale are used to obtain new equipment and to cover travel costs to the many competitions and local events the bands and music groups participate in, plus to help pay for costumes, props, equipment and awards.
“The music booster parents are excited to be raising funds for all of the District’s music programs and departments,” stated Delegatto.
If anyone misses the door to door sales, please contact any Lincoln-Way main office to purchase a card. Questions regarding the SIAM book may be directed to SIAM Card Discount Chair Tom Delegatto at 815-207-1347.
