Longtime Mokena Trustee John Mazzorana Dies
John Mazzorana, who resigned in April after 25 years on the Mokena Village Board, died one month later.

MOKENA, IL — John Mazzorana, the village of Mokena trustee who served on the village board for 25 years before resigning due to health concerns in April died one month later.
Mazzorana, 75, moved to Mokena in 1976 and raised five children in the village with his wife, Claudia.
Much of his life was dedicated to public service in the village. He was elected to the Mokena Park District Board of Commissioners in 1987 and served as the board president until 1993, according to an obituary from the Vandenberg Funeral Home. He was then elected to the Mokena Village Board of Trustees in 1993 and was reelected for five consecutive terms.

He was also active in the Mokena Area Historical Society, the Mokena Chamber of Commerce and numerous other organizations.
Services for Mazzorana have been held.
