March 10 is Last Day to Register to Vote in April Election

Cutoff for Will County residents is looming.

Will County Clerk Nancy Schultz Voots on Wednesday reminded voters that Tuesday, March 10, is the last day to register for those who want to vote in the April 7 consolidated eleciton.

Residents can register at the clerk’s office, 302 N. Chicago St., which is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will have extended hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the last day, March 10.

Two forms of identification are necessary -- one must show current name and address; second identification can be name only.

If you have moved within Will County, complete the back portion of your voter’s card and return it to the County Clerk’s Office, e-mail your Change of Address tovoterregistration@willcountyillinois.comby March 10th, or by going to the following website: https://ova.elections.il.gov,

If you should fail to meet the registration deadline of March 10th, you still have another option called Grace Period. However, this will require you to vote on the same day you register. Grace Period Voting runs from March 11th through April 4th and is available at the Will County Clerk’s Office. Please note: Same day registration and voting will not be available on Election Day, April 7th.

For those already registered, you can fill out an Absentee ballot request on-line for the April 7th Consolidated Election by clicking on the “Vote by Mail” Quick Link. The first day to mail out ballots is February 26th. Early Voting begins on March 23rd and runs through April 4th.
