Medical Marijuana Shop Coming Soon to Mokena?
The Village Board is expected to approve a special use permit for the shop at a meeting later this month.
Mokena officials could soon give the word for a medical marijuana business to set up shop in Mokena.
The Village Board will vote soon on an ordinance permitting The Greenhouse Group to open a dispensary in an industrial park at 9930 W. 190th Street. The company has already obtained a state license for the venture, Chicago Tribune reports.
The group brought the proposal before the plan commission last fall, and the commission sent it through to village board with the recommendation to approve a special use zoning permit.

Trustees Monday suggested a change to the ordinance to keep the Greenhouse Group from selling recreational marijuana, regardless of future state laws.
Trustees are expected to approve it at its April 27 meeting.
