Mokena Chamber Of Commerce Presents Parade Awards

MOKENA, IL — At the Mokena village board meeting on July 22, the Mokena Chamber of Commerce presented its Fourth of July parade awards.

The floats and parade entries were judged by Jackie Bobbitt, the executive director of the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce; Kelly Kaplan from Aurelio's Pizza; and Gene Quigley, a resident at-large. The 2019 Grand Marshals of the parade were long-time District 159 crossing guards Phyllis Karpola and Kay Oehman.

The following awards were presented to:

• Rookie of the Year - Noonan Academy
• Executive Director's Choice - the Crowhurst family
• Judge's Choice - Mokena Miracles
• Judge's Choice - Mokena Girl Scouts
• Judge's Choice - Image 360
• Best Vehicle Entry - NAWS Humane Society
• Best in Keeping with the Theme - Bone-ita Pet Styling
• Most Creative Advertising of a Business - Family Martial Arts
• Best Parade Float - St. John United Church of Christ
