Mokena Commuter Parking Fees Going Up

Starting Oct. 1, daily rates will go from $1 to $1.25.

The daily parking fee at Mokena’s four Metra lots will be going up 25 cents Oct. 1, but you can buy the new tokens now.

On Oct. 1, a new daily parking price the village board approved earlier this year will go into effect. Parking will be $1.25 instead of the current $1.

If commuters want to keep paying with bills and coins, they can do so, but the village is also selling single use tokens for any of Mokena's commuter pay boxes after the price change.

The single use tokens, which have a value of $1.25 each, are being sold in sheets of 10 at the , the and .

  • Front Street Metra Lot: Located on the south side of Front Street, between Wolf Road and Mokena Street.
  • Mokena Metra Station Parking Lot: Located adjacent to the train station and accessible from McGovney Street.
  • Village Hall Parking Lot: Located at the Mokena Village Hall, corner of Division and Carpenter streets.
  • Willowcrest Lane Parking Lot: Located within three blocks of the train station near the corner of Wolf Road and Willowcrest Lane.

Additional public commuter parking is available at the Hickory Creek Metra Station located northeast of the intersection of LaGrange Road and 191st Street on Hickory Creek Drive.
