Mokena Fire District, Nicor Hold Natural Gas Safety Event
Volunteers will share important tips and tools to ensure families know what to do in the unlikely event of a natural gas emergency.
MOKENA, IL — Mokena Fire Protection District and Nicor Gas have partnered to promote natural gas safety. According to Nicor, it is partnering with fire departments in 52 communities across northern Illinois for its public education program.
The open house in Mokena will be held Sunday, Oct. 6 at Fire Station #1, 19853 S. Wolf Road, from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Nicor said volunteers will share important tips and tools to ensure families know what to do in the unlikely event of a natural gas emergency. The booth is interactive, so even the youngest of attendees can learn safety tips.
