Mokena Man Charged With Attempted 1st Degree Murder
Charges against Jeffrey C. Zamecnik have been upgraded.

NEW LENOX, IL -- The Mokena man accused of stabbing his estranged wife’s boyfriend while children were having a sleepover has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, according to a report from The Herald-News.
Previous reports indicate Jeffrey M. Zamecnik was accused of showing up at the boyfriend’s home in New Lenox in the middle of the night and forced his way inside, where he stabbed the alleged victim with a pocket knife.
He was originally charged with aggravated battery/great bodily harm and home invasion causing an injury.
