Mokena Plans Training Exercise At Hickory Creek Station

The exercise is designed to test and develop response strategies at an event involving a commuter train.

MOKENA, IL — A full-scale training exercise will be held Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Hickory Creek Metra Station. Metra and the village of Mokena have partnered with the Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration to conduct the exercise.

According to police, the exercise is designed to test and develop response strategies at an event simulating the involvement of a commuter train. The training will be held in the early morning hours and conclude by early afternoon.

Residents and visitors should be aware that a simulated emergency response to the train station may happen.
