Mokena Set To Resurface Roads, Replace Sidewalks
Mokena will continue to invest in its street, sidewalk and road maintenance across the community.
MOKENA, IL — Mokena will continue to invest in its street, sidewalk and road maintenance across the community this summer and fall. According to the village newsletter, road resurfacing is expected to begin moving forward later this summer.
- The village will fill about 85,535 lineal feet of roadway cracks encompassing 5.4 miles of road. The cracks will be filled to help extend the life of the existing pavement.
- 2,800 square yards of streets will also be patched.
- Over 4 miles of road will be resurfaced.
- 6,450 square feet of sidewalk and 735 lineal feet of curb and gutter will be removed and replaced.
- HA5, a high density mineral bond, will be applied to 13,750 square yard of roadway. The village said the bond will help to extend and preserve the quality of the roads. The bond protects pavement from moisture and UV rays.
