Mokena Taking Applications For Police Officer

MOKENA, IL — The board of fire and police commissioners for the village of Mokena is now accepting applications for police officers. The application deadline is June 10, and the starting salary for the position is $63,864.

Some requirements include: applicants must be a U.S. citizen; have a valid driver's license; be at least 21 (or 20 if they have completed two years of law enforcement study) and under 35; have a high school diploma and an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. The education requirement may be waived if the applicant is a veteran and has served 24 months of honorable active duty or 180 days of active combat duty.

Applicants must attend a written examination at the Pipefitters' Training Center, 10850 W. 187th St., at 9 a.m. June 27.
