Mokena Village Hall Open As Cooling Center
Several days of hot, humid weather are expected across the area later this week.
MOKENA, IL — Several days of hot, humid weather are expected across the area later this week. Temperatures could approach 100 degrees, and heat indices could be close to 110. The National Weather Service said heat indices on Thursday could be at 109 degrees, and 107 degrees on Friday.
For those in Mokena who may need an escape from the heat, the Mokena Village Hall is available as a cooling center.

The NWS recommends limiting outdoor activity and sun exposure. You should also stay hydrated with frequent breaks in air conditioning. Also, never leave children or pets unattended in cars.
