Noonan Crusaders Win Southside Catholic Conference

On Saturday, February 29th the Noonan Academy 8th grade boys basketball team took home the championship in the Southside Catholic Conference league at Brother Rice High School. The Noonan Crusaders fought hard against the team from St. Michael, Orland Park. “It was a real nail biter,” said Barri Antoniolli, Noonan Academy’s Sports Coordinator. “The last time that our Crusaders won this championship was in 2013, so we are really proud of our boys. They are the top 8th grade boys basketball team in the conference.” The Southside Catholic Conference consists of 10 different teams for the division that the Crusaders competed in. Coached by dedicated parent volunteers, Sean Mosby, head coach, was assisted by Dan Redican and Marino Orlandi. The championship Crusaders team consisted of Joe Armbruster, Joe Burchett, Nathan Byrdak, Mac Hagemaster, Artur Krutul, Kaleb Mosby, Isaiah Orlandi, Nolan Redican, Conor Ryan, and Nicholas Valentini.

Noonan Elementary Academy is an independent Catholic school in Mokena serving preschool through 8th grade. Noonan provides its students with a rigorous and innovative educational program that is academically challenging and personally supportive. Noonan is committed to developing the full potential of each student by fostering intellectual development, strong character formation, and spiritual growth.
