The Oaks Recreation And Fitness Center Reopening

Hours for the facility will be 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

MOKENA, IL — As the state moves in phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan, fitness centers and gyms are allowed to reopen. In Mokena, the Mokena Community Park District's The Oaks Recreation and Fitness Center will be reopening on June 29. In-person group exercise classes will restart on July 6.

According to a Facebook post from the Oaks, the open gym and the walking track will be limited to members only.

Hours for the facility will be 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

During its time closed, facility has been deep cleaned, according to an update from the park district. HVAC units have been cleaned and sanitized, and there has been an air purification system with disinfecting UV light installed on the units.

Plexiglas shields have also been installed at the front desk and the fitness desk. There is no child care available at this time, and masks must be worn, except when you are doing physical activity.
