CHICAGO, IL — The best summer holiday may be over, but the fun continues in Chicago and its summer this weekend with a full lineup of events. Here are five options for fun in Chicagoland during the weekend of July 8-9.
- Enjoy two full days of bluegrass music at the Frankfort Bluegrass Festival at Breidert Green Park in downtown Frankfort.
- A four-day drag racing extravaganza continues over the weekend with the NHRA Nationals at the Route 66 Speedway in Joliet.
- Tons of family entertainment is planned for the four-day Palos Hills Friendship Festival that continues into the weekend.
- In the city, Chicago Trolley and Double Decker Tours are always a good option during the warmer months. One-day, two-day and three-day tickets are available on both the Wrigley Field/Lincoln Park Zoo and Museum of Science & Industry/Chinatown routes.
- The North American World Championship Qualifier for Yu-Gi-Oh! (a trading card game) will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. Admission is free for the event hosted by Konami Digital Entertainment.
