School Starts in Lincoln-Way High School 210
Sessions for staff and parents in recent days prepared everyone for Tuesday's first day of school.

Lincoln-Way High School District 210 teachers and staff members gathered at Lincoln-Way East High School on Monday, Aug. 18, to prepare for the new school year.
They were greeted by members of the Central, East, North and West marching bands, who played the National Anthem. Senior class presidents Nicolas Sabatini (Central), Jimmy Finn (East), Payton Lang (North), and Cesar Zavala (West) led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Tuesday, Aug. 19, marks the first day of the 2014-2015 school year. About 7,100 students from New Lenox, Manhattan, Frankfort, Frankfort Square, Mokena, and portions of Joliet and Tinley Park are expected to file through the doors of the four high schools.
Their teachers gathered at Lincoln-Way East on Monday for an Institute day before heading to their buildings for workshops and department meetings.

In recent weeks, parents of incoming freshman attended a “Straight Talk” session with Supt. Scott Tingley. More than 270 parents attended the four sessions.
Information was shared about academic intensity, boundaries, enrollment, finances, ACT testing, discipline and the Common Core standards.
Tingley introduced each building principal and their administrative team to the parents and gave a description of their responsibilities.
