Sixth Annual CASA of Will County Event Gets New Name, Promises Same Magical Family Fun with Expanded Dates

"CASA Christmas Express" will be departing over two weekends in December to cater to more passengers

JOLIET, Ill. – September 25, 2014 – CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Will County, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to draw from community resources to provide well-trained volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system, announced the expansion and renaming of its most popular annual event, which will now be called the CASA Christmas Express.

In addition to the new name, the event has been extended over the first two Saturdays in December, taking place on Dec. 6 and 13, 2014. Tickets, which tend to sell out quickly and are first-come first served, will go on sale October 1 and will be available at www.casaofwillcounty.org. All proceeds from this event benefit abused and neglected children of Will County.

Trains depart from Joliet Union Station, 50 E. Jefferson Street in Joliet, and make a round trip to the Tinley Park Oak Park Avenue Station. Once there, guest will partake in festive activities, which will vary by date and include:

For trains departing on Saturday, Dec. 6, passengers will enjoy either breakfast or lunch and a visit with Santa, including cookies and hot cocoa at Durbins (17265 South Oak Park Avenue, Tinley Park). Kids and adults alike may then visit “Santa’s Workshop” – also known as the Tinley Park Fire Department – for more fun-filled activities.

For trains departing on Saturday, Dec. 13, passengers will enjoy a catered lunch from Parmesan’s at the American Legion (17423 67th Ct, Tinley Park). Kids can participate in games and face painting before heading to their visit with Santa and “Santa’s Workshop” at the Landmark Church (6727 174th St, Tinley Park). Tickets are $35 each and include breakfast or lunch, soft drinks, hot cocoa and cookies as well as all activities. Limited seating is available so do not miss your chance to climb aboard the CASA Christmas Express!
