• Will County Board OKs solar farm near Crete, reverses rejection on six farms (chicagotribune.com) — A major new solar farm will span farmlands in Crete, Washington, Will and Monee townships after the Will County Board narrowly approved Earthrise Energy’s 260‑megawatt Plum Valley project. The board also reversed earlier denials of six smaller solar farms near New Lenox, Wilmington, Shorewood and Channahon under a judge’s order, while some members from Monee and nearby towns protested the loss of local control.
