2 Horses Die in Kane Co. Barn Fire
A barn in unincorporated Elgin was destroyed in a Friday afternoon blaze.

Two horses died in a fire Friday afternoon that destroyed a barn in unincorporated Elgin.
Firefigthers were called to the barn at 9N067 Corron Road in unincorporated Elgin at about 2:40 p.m. on Friday, according to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office press release.

The barn was completely destroyed by the blaze. Two horses were unable to escape and were killed in the fire. Another horse was able to escape.
No people were injured in the fire.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
