9 Students Injured When Bus Crashes Near West Aurora High School

A car allegedly ran a red light and collided with the school bus Monday morning.

Nine students were taken to area hospitals Monday morning after a car allegedly ran a red light and collided with a school bus near West Aurora High School in Aurora, according to the Aurora Beacon News.

The crash occurred at the intersection of West Galena Boulevard and Commonwealth Avenue at about 8:12 a.m. There were 40 high school students on the bus at the time and nine were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the article.

The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and police said citations are pending against the driver.
