Baker is accused of entering the home of a 45-year-old man in the 1600 block of Shamrock Court at about 5:20 a.m., and shooting the victim multiple times as he lay in bed, police said. Baker then allegedly fled the scene.

The victim was shot several times, including in the face. Despite being critically injured, he was able to call 911, police said. The man was treated at an Aurora hospital before being airlifted to a suburban hospital. Police said he has since been transferred to another suburban facility where he continues to undergo treatment. He is expected to survive his injuries, according to police.

Police said Baker surfaced as a suspect early in the investigation and was taken into custody without incident at his home on Monday evening. The shooting apparently stemmed from a personal issue between the two, police said.

Baker’s bail was set at $750,000 today on Thursday. His next court date is 9 a.m., September 24, at the Kane County Judicial Center in St. Charles.
