District 308 Student Brought Knives to School: Police

13-year-old arrested on Thursday at Oswego school.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested Thursday after allegedly bringing four knives to Thompson Junior High School, 440 Boulder Hill Pass, police said.

The teen was charged with unlawful storage of weapons and unlawful possession of weapons, according to a police report.

Oswego Police Capt. Jeff Burgner said three of the weapons were throwing knives, while the fourth was a pocket knife, Only Oswego reported. Police reportedly responded to the campus at about 8:30 a.m. after a Thompson staff member saw one of the knives fall out of the student’s pocket.

According to police, the boy did not make any threats against students or staff.
