Former Kendall County Sheriff Dies

The Kendall County Sheriff’s office on Friday announced the passing of former Sheriff Thomas Usry Sr.

Usry, who died Friday at age 78, served as sheriff from 1970 to 1978.

“Sheriff Usry was proud to serve Kendall County as its Sheriff. He was an important part of Kendall County law enforcement, and we have a deep appreciation for his service to this community.” Said Sheriff Dwight Baird. “Tom will be missed by his family, the men and women of law enforcement and the citizen’s of Kendall County.”

Visitation is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 South Broadway in Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the funeral home, followed by a procession to Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, 675 Route 30, Aurora, IL.
