Four Charged in Kendall County Sex/Violent Offender Sweep

Deputies began compliance checks in May.

Four area men have been charged after allegedly failing to comply with sex and violent offender registration requirements during a sweep by Kendall County Sheriff’s Police.

Beginning in May of 2014, deputies conducted compliance checks of 50 individuals living in Kendall County who are required to register as sex offenders, or as a violent offender against youth, police said Friday. The checks are designed to ensure the individuals are in compliance with state laws regarding their registration requirements.

As a result of these checks, four individuals were criminally charged.

Luis Saavedra, 49, of the 1000 Block of Route 30, was charged with failure to report employment, a Class 3 Felony. Saavedra’s bond was set at $25,000, with 10 percent to apply. He was taken into custody without incident on July 12, police said.

Robert Neff, 61, of the 8000 Block of Van Emmon Road, was charged with failure to report employment, a Class 2 Felony, and providing false information, a Class 2 Felony, police said. Neff’s bond was set at $25,000, with 10 percent to apply. He was taken into custody on August 7 without incident, police said.

Paul Geiss, 29, of the 900 Block of Route 52, was charged with 3 counts of failure to report employment, all Class 2 felonies, and 3 counts of providing false information, all Class 3 felonies. Geiss’ bond was set at $50,000, with ten percent to apply. He was taken into custody on July 31, police said.

Richard Stewart, 30, of the 8000 Block of Millbrook Road, was charged with failure to report employment, a Class 3 Felony, and providing false information, a Class 3 Felony. Stewart’s bond was set at $25,000, with 10 percent to apply. He was taken into custody on July 15 without incident, police said.
