Free GED practice tests for limited time
Regional Superintendent Christopher Mehochko announces that his office will provide free GED practice tests on September 23.

The Grundy-Kendall Regional Office of Education (GKROE) is giving away free GED practice tests to all students who come to the Professional Testing and Training Center on Tuesday, September 23 from 9 am to 7 pm. Students can register for the free tests by calling 630-553-4168. The Professional Testing and Training Center is located in the lower level of the Kendall County Historic Courthouse, 109 W. Ridge Street, Yorkville.
Regional Superintendent Christopher Mehochko said, “The practice test will show if a student is ready to pass the GED test and, if not ready, it will tell what skills need to be improved and give a personalized study plan.”
The practice test, known as “GED Ready: The Official Practice Test“ normally costs $24 through GED testing Service and is half of the length of the actual GED test. Taking the practice test at the GKROE’s testing center will let a student become familiar with what the real computer-based GED test will be like.

GKROE is an authorized testing center for the GED and other computer-based tests offered by Pearson VUE. The GED test was updated at the beginning 2014 to be more rigorous and to be aligned with Common Core Standards. The GED test is now only available in a computer-based test.
