Inmates Injured in Crash with Semi-Truck: Yorkville Police
DeKalb County Sheriff's van was taking inmates to Kendall County jail when it was hit by a semi, police said.

Two inmates were taken to Rush-Copley hospital Monday after a DeKalb County sheriff’s van was hit by a semi-trailer, Yorkville police said.
The crash occurred at around 3:09 p.m. near Route 47 and Carpenter Street when the driver of the semi struck a van transporting four inmates to the Kendall County jail, according to police.
The force of the impact caused the van to rear-end a third vehicle, police said.

Two passengers from the sheriff’s van were taken to the hospital, and all vehicles sustained moderate to heavy damage, according to police.
The driver of the semi, 37-year-old Christian Jonson of Yorkville, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
