International Day of the Girl Celebration
You'll have the chance to write letters to women and girls in our safe houses or to special women in your life.
In 2011, the UN declared October 11th as the International Day of the Girl to recognize women’s rights and the challenges girls and women faces around the world from extreme violence to the lack of opportunity to receive education.
Join us on Sunday, October 11th from 12:00 - 4:00pm at WAR Chest Boutique, to celebrate how far we’ve come and share your messages of hope, inspiration and strength with women and girls all around the world. You’ll have the ability to write letters to women and girls in our safe houses, to special women in your life or something to brighten a stranger’s day. Together, we can make a difference and lift each other up.
All supplies will be provided.
WAR Chest Boutique is a nonprofit boutique located at 4 E Jefferson in Naperville. Everything in the boutique is made by or in support of women rescued from human trafficking or at risk domestically as well as internationally.
