Kendall County Blotter: Cops Report Another Jury Duty Scam

Arrests, incidents reported by area police.

Dec. 6

Emerald Construction, 5400 Light Road, Oswego Township, reported that concrete construction material was stolen from a parking lot at the business, according to Kendall County Sheriff’s police.

Rebecca Anderson, 42, of the 0-100 block of Sonora Drive, Montgomery, was arrested by Kendall County Sheriff’s police and charged with domestic battery. Police said they responded to a report that Anderson allegedly struck her boyfriend in the face.

Mayra Montoya, 27, of the 100 block of Manning Avenue, Montgomery, was arrested by Oswego police at Kohl’s, 2500 Route 34, and charged with endangering the life or health of a child, police said.

Kendall County Sheriff’s police said someone claiming to be with the sheriff’s office contacting a couple, saying they had two arrest warrants for failing to report to jury duty. The unknown person instructed the couple to send them money via a Green Dot Money Pak. A similar incident was a reported in Yorkville on Dec. 5.

Dec. 9

Employees of R&D Thiel reported the theft of lumber from a construction site in the 300 block of Winthrop, Oswego police said.

Brummel Concrete reported the theft of a generator from the 0-100 block of Stonehill Road, Oswego police said.
