Kendall County Blotter: Couple Discovers ID Theft While Attempting to File Taxes

Jacob Buroff, 18, of the 0-100 block of Greenfield, Montgomery, was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

A 17-year-old driver from Naperville told Kendall County Sheriff’s police that a hit-and-run driver struck his vehicle from behind at Rance Road and Pioneer Court, causing him to lose control of his vehicle, which struck trees on the north shoulder of the road, police said.

Sheriff’s police are investigating after a Montgomery couple went to file their income taxes and found that their Social Security numbers were already used to fix taxes this year, police said.

A resident reported that her cell phone was stolen at Caterpillar, 275 Route 31, police said.
