Kendall County Blotter: Elderly Woman Targeted in PayPal Scam; Driver Leaves Scene of Crash

Rachel Sipin, 22, of the 600 block of Deames Street, Plano, was arrested by Oswego police at Fernwood and Woodridge on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, along with two warrants for failure to appear in court, police said.

A driver from Yorkville reported a hit and run crash to Kendall County Sheriff’s police after an accident at Route 47 and Walker Road. Following the crash, the other driver approached the victim, asking if she was all right. When the victim asked to exchange information, the other driver refused and left the scene, police said. The incident is under investigation.

Kendall County Sheriff’s police are investigating a fraud attempt after a 76-year-old woman told police she had received a letter advising her that a recent transaction on her PayPal account had been declined. Police said that upon contacting PayPal, authorities learned that someone had tried to complete a money transfer using the woman’s account information.

Christopher McClendon, 44, of the 0-100 block of Afton, Montgomery, was arrested on a charge of a domestic battery after “he made physical contact of an insulting manner with a family member,” Kendall County Sheriff’s police said.
