Kendall County Health Dept. to Hold Conference on Budget Impasse

Kendall County Health Department will host a public press conference to discuss how state and federal budget impasse harms the vital public health services that are provided for all county residents. This public press conference will take place on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Kendall County Health Department located at 811 W. John St. Yorkville, IL.

The failure of the state in establishing a budget has a local impact on our community services.The continued failure to appropriate spending on these vital services hurts everyone, not just the poor, the sick and otherwise distressed. It hurts employers. It hurts employees. It hurts our youth, young adults and the elderly. Action must occur to ensure these community services are sustained.

Kendall County Health Department takes great care to provide both person-based as well as population-based health and well being services for our communities.

Our diverse person-based services such as home weatherization, addictions treatment, and person centered nutrition consultation are vital to the wellness of the communities we serve. Our population-based services such as energy assistance, addictions treatment, food protection, energy conservation education, suicide surveillance, communicable disease surveillance and emergency preparedness work are vital to the wellness of the communities we serve.

As a provider of both person-based as well as population-based health and well being services, we are poised to use such breadth of understanding to employ effective prevention information, interventions, and strategies on behalf of community wellness.
