Montgomery Blotter: Man Charged with DUI After Alleged Near-Miss With Police Car

Charles Brackenridge, 33, of the 600 block of North River Street, Aurora, was arrested at Route 25 and Keck Avenue on a charge of aggravated DUI after his vehicle crossed the center line of traffic and early struck a police car head-on, police said. The vehicle continued south on Route 25, where it eventually left the roadway and hit a utility pole, according to police. Brackenridge was treated for minor injuries before being released to police, and was also charged with not having a valid license, according to a police report.

Tammy Benson, 43, of the 2800 block of Providence, was arrested on two counts of domestic battery and one count of resisting a peace officer after officers responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic dispute, police said.
