Montgomery Blotter: Woman Left Sleeping Baby Alone in Car Outside Walmart, Cops Say

Taroya Beard, 25, of the 1200 block of Nantucket, Aurora, was arrested on a charge of endangering the life or health of a child after police observed Beard’s vehicle in the fire lane at Walmart, 2000 Orchard Road, with the engine running and the doors unlocked. Police found an 8-month-old baby sleeping in the vehicle with no adult supervision, Montgomery police said. The baby was in the vehicle alone for around 18 minutes before Beard came out of the store, police said.
An employee of JC Penney, 1100 Ogden Ave., told police that five male suspects came into the store and stole 20 pairs of Levi’s jeans before fleeing in a black Chevrolet Suburban, police said.

Israel Steele, 21, of the 300 block of Ottawa Street, Joliet, was arrested at Walmart, 2000 Orchard Road, on a charge of retail theft after an employee saw him conceal items and attempt to leave the store, police said.

Angela Rodriguez, 36, of the 300 block of Grand Place, Aurora, was arrested at Walmart, 2000 Orchard Road, on a charge of retail theft after an employee reportedly saw her conceal items and attempt to leave the store, according to police.
David Villegas, 20, of the 21000 block of Rebecca Circle, was arrested in the 2900 block of Manchester Drive on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after police received a call about two people sitting in a vehicle smoking cannabis, police said. When police arrived, the smell of cannabis was coming from the vehicle and Villegas told police he had drug paraphernalia in his center console, according to a police report.
