Montgomery Homeowners Showcase Their Halloween Spirit
Montgomery's Beautification Committee recently recognized homeowners throughout the village for their "ghoulish creativity."

MONTGOMERY, IL – Americans will spend nearly $3 billion on Halloween decorations this year, and more than 175 million Americans are planning to partake in Halloween festivities this month, according to the National Retail Federation.
With Halloween fast approaching, many Montgomery homeowners are also embracing the “scariest time of the year.” Plenty of homeowners throughout the village are showcasing their Halloween spirit by giving their houses a complete “spooky” makeover as part of a contest sponsored by Montgomery’s Beautification Committee.

For the third year in a row, the committee has hosted its Halloween display contest. According to village officials, the contest has generated a lot of interest and excitement over the last two years. As a result, the event was brought back this year by popular demand.

Recently, committee members traveled throughout the village, visiting a list of addresses submitted by homeowners and neighbors. The committee then selected 55 addresses to recognize. The chosen homes now proudly display a sign in the front yard.

"The committee would like to congratulate those who received this designation and thank all those who participated for their hard work and enthusiasm," officials stated in a news release. "Lastly, the committee encourages all residents and nonresidents to take a walk or a
drive through the Village to view the outstanding ghoulish displays."

Some of the homes recognized for their "ghoulish creativity" can be found in such communities as Season's Ridge, Arbor Ridge, Montgomery Crossing, Orchard Prairie North, Lakewood Creek, Blackberry Crossing West, Blackberry Crossing, Saratoga Springs, Old Town, Foxmoor and Lakewood Creek West.
