Montgomery Police Ask for Help Solving Murder

Police are looking for the man who gunned down 28-year-old Jesus Garcia Jr. in December 2014.

Montgomery police are asking potential witnesses to come forward in the Dec. 18, 2014, shooting death of a Chicago man.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jesus Garcia Jr. was was near Montgomery Road and Fourth Street, walking westbound from Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora, when he was shot at about 6 p.m., police said. At the time of the shooting, Garcia was wearing a black hooded jacket, dark-colored jeans and a red and black baseball cap, according to police.

Garcia was found lying in the street after police responded to a report of shots fired, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The night of the shooting, an exhaustive search by police failed to turn up the suspect.

A cash reward will be given for any information leading to the arrest and the conviction of the suspect, police said.
