Montgomery Police Officer Promoted to Patrol Sergeant

Jacob Niete was sworn in July 13 by Montgomery Village President Matt Brolley.

Officer Jacob Niete of the Montgomery Police Department was recently promoted to patrol sergeant, according to a release from the Montgomery Police Department.

Niete was sworn in July 13 by Montgomery Village President Matt Brolley. Friends, relatives, and neighbors packed the Village Hall for the ceremony.

Jacob received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Illinois State in 1999 where he also played football for four years on the Redbirds football team. Since being hired in 2007, Jacob has become a member of the ILEAS MFF, served as an FTO, Special Enforcement Team member and LEAD Gang Officer for the Department.
